Bottoms Up Cafe - Our Story

Since PPESC's opening in 1997, the most common patient symptom has been coffee withdrawal. In fact, those mysterious beans are often missed more than food. We empathized. So we dreamt of a simple coffee-filled endoscopy suite. The idea, like so many of the world's great ideas, evolved.

So what does one call such a place? "Starbutts" came to mind, but we thought that might be too similar to a small Seattle coffee company. Our billing coordinator suggested "Bottoms UP Cafe" - inspired and humorous. The logo and menu were created by one of the endoscopy technicians.

Naming the drinks provided a unique challenge, one to which our team-minded employees rose. The menu items represent some of the most popular coffee creations in the world.
