What are Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are blood vessels in the rectum or anal area that may protrude
through the anus on straining. They are enlarged veins and are most common
for people over the age of fifty.



What causes symptomatic Hemorrhoids?

  • Aging
  • Constipation and/or diarrhea
  • Pregnancy
  • Heredity
  • Lengthy toilet time

More than 10 million people in the United States suffer from hemorrhoids.
Three out of four people develop hemorrhoids at some time in their lives.



GACS offers non-surgical treatments for hemorrhoids.



These include:
  • Infrared Coagulation (IRC)
    This procedure is fast, well tolerated and remarkable complication free.

  • O'Regan Banding
    In office banding for hemorrhoids. Fewer than 5% of patients have a
    recurrence within 2 years. Takes less than 1 minute. Less than 1%
    complication rate - much safer than traditional banding that is done
    during a colonoscopy.

These treatments ae highly effective in treating hemorrhoids. As a result,
99.1% of patients do not require surgery.
