Trish Sanford ACNP

Trish Sanford, RN, MSN, ACNP-BC joined GACS in October 2012 as a GI Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her AD-RN in 1982 from Boise State University. She then went onto get a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from University of Utah. After working in ICU for 10 years, she decided to get a second Bachelors in Nursing from Delta State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She went directly into her Masters Degree Program at the University of Tennessee, graduating Magna Cum Laude as an Acute Care NP, with a 4.0 GPA. During her Undergraduate Nursing School, she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing and has been a member since 1992.

After school, Trish worked as a hospitalist NP for 12 years in Critical Care, Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and 7 years in outpatient clinics, practicing Internal Medicine and Nephrology. When her husband, who is an ER Doctor, decided to move the family back to Colorado from Mississippi, she got her Colorado License, and started working with GACS in a team of 2 other NP's. She lives with her husband, son and grandson, and has 4 other grown children, with one other grandchild. She has over 30 years of hospital and critical care experience as both an RN and ACNP.
